Part of Ian's planning for a great North West Adventure in 2024, was to purchase The Lithium Box 200-40SX, a custom 200Ah model of our portable Lithium Systems, which we installed it into the tray of his Triton.
The trip went really well and The Lithium Box (TLB) 200-40SX exceeded Ian's expectations, so with the purchase of a Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Series for a Cape York trip, he opted not to part with TLB and had us remove it from the Triton to install it in the 79S canopy.
The ability to do unlimited transfers of the 12 volt power system from vehicle to vehicle is a major bonus for TLB owners.
The Lithium Box 200-40SX Portable Lithium System, features:
✅️ RV Lithium Systems Australia (RVLSA) 200Ah Lithium battery with 100A Battery Management System (BMS)
✅️Victron Smart Bluetooth Smart Shunt 300 Battery Monitor, which is a full battery meter displaying battery voltage, state of charge, Amps in or out, amp hour consumed and time to go until flat
✅️Redarc BCDC1240D 40A DC / vehicle/ solar charger with a Blue 50A Anderson plug for vehicle power input and a Yellow 50A Anderson plug for solar panel input, on the rear of TLB, perfect for connection the vehicles roof solar panel.
✅️An additional Yellow 50A Anderson plug for solar panel input on the front of TLB for easy access when plugging in portable solar panels.
✅️Two Grey 50A Anderson Outlets (50A max each)
✅️A Black 50A Anderson (15A max) plug, which is perfect for canopy lighting
✅️Two Engel / Dometic / ARB fridge sockets
✅️Two Cig/Accessory sockets
✅️ Victron 25A IP65 Charger input socket for an optional 5 to 25A IP65 Victron 240V Battery Charger. Ian purchased the 25A IP65 to charge from 240V if the need arises and ideal if in storage.
✅️ An enclosed all-in-one compact unit measuring in at 420mmL X 185mmW X 280mmH and weighing a mere 26kg
In addition to the transfer of TLB to the Cruiser, we gave the new rig the Install-A-Gadget-here-I-come-Cape-York treatment by:
Designing and installing a custom panel to mount a 10-way fuse box to power the canopy accessories
Powering up the existing canopy lighting and extending the fridge wiring
Installing a Cig/Accessory socket and USB’s on the left side of canopy
Installing an Engel fridge socket and USB’s in the rear of the Cruiser cab for a second fridge and to charge accessories when parked up
Wiring up an ARB Twin Compressor with a switch and setting it up so the compressor will only run when the vehicle is running, which is a power saving move.
Installing an external Yellow 50A Anderson plug for a roof mounted 200w solar panel
Suppling a 200W Solar Panel with a yellow 50A Anderson plug fitted, so Ian can install the panel on the roof rack later when ready, with a 300W Portable Solar Blanket as a plan B when the roof rack is too full of gear.
